About Us

Profoil is an English company based in Ipswich - a Suffolk town 100 kilometres east of London. Profoil is an associated company of Blockfoil - www.blockfoil.com and SF Services - www.sfhotfoil.com

We started business in 1989 to supply consumables and machines to the foiling and embossing industries. Our first products were toggles and spare parts and we have since added foils, dies, make- ready materials and many other consumables, in fact, everything needed for the foiling and embossing professional. We manufacture most of our products by using our in-house design engineers and all our manufactured products use the highest quality German steel.

We started our on-line shop in the Autumn of 2009 and over the months we have improved the range of products and the functionality of the shop: These improvements are on-going as Profoil strives to meet all of your needs for foiling and embossing.

We now have customers in over 60 countries and we very much hope that you too will now become a Profoil customer.

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept card payments. If you are shopping outside the UK, place your order and your card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

We accept Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Solo, Maestro and American Express. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. If you do not wish to pay online, you may send your card information via phone, fax or by post.

If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Please note that prices displayed in the shop in any currency other than British pounds are meant as a guide only and may not reflect the exchange rate you receive from your bank or credit card company.

Returns Policy

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive.

The items sold in this shop are consumables and as such if you want to return them to us for a refund they should be unused and in their original packaging. When returning foil if it is a full roll, the customer may return the foil so long as the foil is uncut. The restocking fee may apply. We do not accept returns on cut rolls. The customer must pay for all shipping charges.

Subject to this you are entitled to cancel your order and return the goods within 7 working days. Do this by contacting us by email or telephone and quoting the order number supplied to you. Your refund will be paid within 30 days. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value. This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

We reserve the right to charge up to 20% of the order value to cover administrative, re-stocking and shipping costs.

These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply in the future.

None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.

Credit Card Security

When the order is placed at our website, credit and debit card information is processed by Sage Pay (formerly Protx). Sage Pay is level 1 PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) compliant and are active members of the PCI SSC (Security Standards Council).

All transaction information passed between merchant sites and Sage Pay’s systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to you from Sage Pay are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely assured that nothing you pass to Sage Pay’s servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Once on Sage Pay's systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data they hold is extremely secure and they are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.

Sage Pay has multiple private links into the banking network that are completely separate from the Internet and which do not cross any publicly accessible networks. Any cardholder information sent to the banks and any authorisation message coming back is secure and cannot be tampered with.
